Sr. Systems Engineer - Climate Control

About the role

Join the Thermal Control System Team to develop and implement advanced climate control solutions for electric vehicles. You will work closely with designers, engineers, firmware developers, and service teams to define and deliver embedded software that optimizes thermal management for powertrains, battery packs, and cabin HVAC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop system requirements and drive software development for automotive climate control.
• Model thermodynamic behavior and human comfort using specialized simulation tools.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to create frameworks and detailed control software specifications.
• Translate high‑level feature requests into sensor, actuator, and controller requirements, overseeing implementation, testing, and release.
• Research, analyze, and refine control algorithms through simulation models.
• Create and maintain system boundary diagrams, function allocation documents, state machines, sequence diagrams, and failure analyses.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with software architecture and requirement‑management tools such as JAMA or DOORS.
• Strong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and HVAC component interactions.
• Proficiency in control‑systems fundamentals applied to thermal management.
• Knowledge of automotive or building climate‑control system development.
• Understanding of human thermal comfort and its impact on HVAC control.
• Analytical expertise handling large datasets in MATLAB or Python; familiarity with C/C++ is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and manage open‑ended projects in fast‑paced environments.
