Software Test Engineer – 5G/4G Mobile Carrier Certification (Mid Level)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Software Test Engineer with Mandarin fluency to lead 5G/4G mobile carrier certification testing for major North American operators. The role bridges U.S. testing activities with our client’s R&D teams in Asia, ensuring compliance and quality of next‑generation mobile devices.

Key responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive 5G/4G protocol, Lab IOT and live‑network field tests based on carrier prerequisite test cases.
• Log, track and manage software defects in the designated bug‑tracking system, ensuring timely resolution.
• Escalate critical bugs, performance blocks or project risks to testing contacts and R&D departments.
• Collaborate with engineering compliance checks, perform regression testing and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Facilitate technical communication with Asian R&D teams using Mandarin, including night‑time overtime to align time zones.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on software testing experience for mobile communication terminals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English, able to communicate with both U.S. and Asian teams.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate time‑zone differences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with logging and debugging tools such as QXDM and Wireshark.
• Experience in carrier certification processes for operators like T‑Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Dish.
• Strong knowledge of 5G/4G protocol testing and Lab IOT environments.
• Defect tracking and regression testing expertise.
