Software Engineer - Rust

About the role

Payward Services is an enterprise infrastructure platform that lets companies integrate trading, payments, funding and digital asset services through a single system, providing liquidity, custody, compliance, risk management and settlement. As a Software Engineer you will build and scale the systems that run the platform, working with hundreds of experienced Rust engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Rust services and libraries for trading, payments and crypto experiences, focusing on reliability, performance and user impact.
• Write reusable, testable and efficient code that scales across teams and supports revenue-critical systems.
• Collaborate on large-scale distributed systems architecture, turning product requirements into resilient, low-latency solutions.
• Work with product teams to gather requirements and constraints, and take full end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Ability to debug issues autonomously across OS, network and application layers.
• Security-first mindset in system design and willingness to own systems end to end.
• Nice to have: experience building B2B products, ideally in fintech or crypto.

Required skills

• Rust, including network services or asynchronous code.
• Distributed systems concepts, including RPC protocols, Kafka and event-driven systems.
