Software Engineer – New College Grad (Master's) – Chandler, AZ

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials you will dive deep into cutting‑edge technologies such as machine learning and AI to create novel software solutions for semiconductor equipment. You will design, prototype, develop, and debug software that addresses high‑value customer problems while collaborating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and develop moderately complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices.
• Develop common software modules and libraries used across multiple products.
• Create software documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot moderately difficult software problems and implement bug fixes.
• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project scheduling, and software troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (GPA 3.0+ preferred).
• Proficiency in C/C++.Net, C# and solid understanding of operating systems, networking, algorithms, and multi‑threading.

Required skills

• Python and experience with AI/ML platforms/tools.
• Agile development and rapid prototyping.
• .Net/C# expertise.
• Parallel programming / multi‑threading.
• Familiarity with WCF and Windows Forms UI.
• Strong OOP/OOD and design‑pattern knowledge.
