Software Engineer

About the role

DPG Solutions is seeking a mid‑ to senior‑level Software Engineer to work on classified mission‑critical systems in Herndon, VA. The role involves full‑stack development, from design through deployment and operational support, within a cleared environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate, deploy and maintain object‑oriented software using C#, Java, C++ or related technologies.
• Translate technical and mission requirements into reliable, maintainable code and support database integration with SQL.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration and automated validation tests; conduct code reviews.
• Participate in software architecture discussions, Agile sprint planning, backlog refinement and daily stand‑ups.
• Provide troubleshooting for defects, performance issues and operational failures, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance, adjudicated CI polygraph and a Security+, SSCP, CISSP or CASP certification.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least one OO language (C#, Java or C++).
• Strong understanding of OOP design principles, data structures, algorithms and software lifecycle best practices.
• Experience with source control, configuration management, code review and collaborative development.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.
