Software Engineer Internship – AI‑Enabled Legal Products

About the role

Join the LexisNexis Legal & Professional team to build AI‑enabled software that supports legal and professional customers worldwide. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop features, internal tools and APIs while learning modern engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, product, UX, and data‑science teams to design and develop software solutions.
• Write high‑quality, well‑structured code for web applications, APIs, services and internal tools.
• Use AI‑assisted development tools responsibly to prototype, document, test and improve code while validating outputs through human review.
• Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on readability, reliability, security and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot software issues, write tests, improve observability and resolve defects.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a computer‑science or related degree program with graduation after June 2027.
• Demonstrated programming fundamentals in languages such as Java, Python, C++, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies, Git, testing practices, APIs and cloud concepts.
• Interest in AI, generative models and responsible AI practices.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation ranging from $22 to $34, depending on degree level.
• On‑site work in Raleigh, NC for 11‑12 weeks starting June 7 2027.
