Software Engineer II – Air Traffic Solutions (Onsite)

About the role

Join the Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions Software Engineering Department (ATS‑SED) to develop and support safety‑of‑life air traffic management systems used worldwide. You will work on operational software components that control and monitor civil and military aviation traffic.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software packaged into ATMS products.
• Maintain documentation and work instructions to meet high‑maturity engineering standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing.
• Collaborate with an integrated engineering team, program management, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• STEM degree (or advanced degree) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating software in a Unix/Linux environment.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for access to program information.

Required skills

• Java or C/C++ programming.
• Unix/Linux development.
• Containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Scripting with Bash and Python.
• Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging frameworks and Ada (willingness to learn).
• Software testing and debugging.
