Software Engineer, Early Career (AI)

About the role

As an Early‑Career AI Engineer at Notion, you will help shape core user experiences and accelerate the discovery of value in Notion’s AI‑powered workspace. You will work on cutting‑edge features that leverage large language models, embeddings, and other AI technologies, collaborating closely with design, product, and data teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with your team to prototype and ship AI‑driven product improvements.
• Own a scoped productionisation project, integrating new models or techniques, adding monitoring, guardrails, and improving latency, cost, or reliability.
• Contribute to evaluation frameworks, run experiments, analyse results, and translate learnings into product or system changes.
• Collaborate across AI‑focused teams, such as product engineering, model & systems engineering, or evaluation & quality.

Required profile

• Less than two years of engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Customer‑mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Enthusiasm for building and iterating quickly on AI/ML solutions.
