Software Development Engineer – C#/.NET (Cambridge, MA)

About the role

Work as a Software Engineer on the Hospital Patient Monitoring Team in an Agile environment, designing, developing, and testing software for a real‑time patient monitoring platform using .NET, C#, React, GraphQL, Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of next‑generation patient monitoring software as a hands‑on full‑stack contributor while mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and championing engineering best practices.
• Write clear specifications, create detailed technical designs, and implement creative software solutions, defining scope and problem domains with stakeholders.
• Design and develop software components with focus on elasticity, scalability, reliability, interoperability, security, and serviceability.
• Deliver software modules that meet quality standards, requirements, and timelines.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate new tools to improve development processes and product quality.
• Analyze and optimize application performance, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure performance benchmarks are met.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience with object‑oriented programming, C#.NET, microservices, web services, and relational databases.
• Proficiency with React, GraphQL, Kafka (nice to have), Kubernetes (nice to have), PostgreSQL/SQL Server, and performance tuning.
• Ability to work in a cross‑functional Agile team using CI/CD tools such as Azure and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and experience applying them to large‑scale, mission‑critical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to produce high‑quality work independently and collaboratively.
