Software Developer - Defense Technology

About the role

Join a leading defense organization as a Software Developer, creating advanced software solutions for U.S. military applications. You will collaborate with global and domestic teams to deliver high‑impact systems that meet strict defense standards.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt and enhance foreign‑developed defense tools to meet U.S. operational requirements and compliance.
• Participate in all software development phases, from requirements gathering through design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Execute integration, validation, and testing to ensure security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and user guides.
• Support certification processes and provide post‑deployment troubleshooting and upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in defense or aerospace.
• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for international technical collaboration.

Required skills

• Programming languages: C++, Java, Python.
• Experience with real‑time systems and multithreaded coding.
• Knowledge of sensor data processing (radar, EO/IR, LiDAR) and sensor fusion techniques.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity standards such as NIST 800‑53 and FIPS 140‑2.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of military communication protocols (MIL‑STD‑1553, CAN bus) and RTOS platforms (VxWorks, QNX, RTEMS).
