Social Services Coordinator – Atlanta YDC (College Park, GA)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Social Services Coordinator for the Atlanta Youth Development Center (YDC) in College Park. This position oversees and guides social services programs, ensuring they meet community needs and comply with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and direct daily operations of mental health and related programs, including outpatient services and substance‑abuse initiatives.
• Supervise assigned staff, providing guidance on work assignments, performance, and professional development.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies to coordinate services and avoid duplication.
• Oversee grant, contract, and budget management for program activities.
• Ensure program compliance with eligibility criteria, policy standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Address operational issues, troubleshoot consumer concerns, and support facilities management.

Required profile

• Experience supervising staff and managing social‑service programs, preferably in a public‑sector or juvenile‑justice setting.
• Strong knowledge of mental‑health, substance‑abuse, and developmental‑disability services.
• Ability to develop budgets, manage grants, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
