About the role

The Petersen Automotive Museum is seeking a Social Media Assistant to join its Marketing team. This role blends creativity, organization, and a passion for automotive culture to help amplify the museum’s online presence across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and publishing engaging content on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
• Support the maintenance of a social media content calendar to ensure consistent posting.
• Capture on‑site footage and photos for behind‑the‑scenes stories, event coverage, and daily museum moments.
• Write copy for captions, stories, community posts, and short‑form video content while organizing digital assets.
• Monitor social channels daily, responding to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
• Track performance metrics (engagement, follower growth, reach) and compile regular social reports.
• Research emerging trends, creators, and influencer opportunities to keep the museum’s digital strategy fresh.
• Provide hands‑on social media support during exhibitions, activations, and partner collaborations.
