About the role
The SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) Coordinator provides professional employment counseling, needs assessments, vocational evaluations, and training for participants of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) E&T program. Working under general supervision, the Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the adult education center and community partners.
Key responsibilities
- Contact SNAP participants referred by the Department of Human Services and conduct assessments and interviews for program inclusion.
- Explain client responsibilities, rights, and program availability.
- Administer assessment tools to determine participant interest and suitability.
- Refer participants to Adult Basic Education services as needed.
- Enroll participants in the state reporting system and maintain accurate records.
- Act as the main point of contact between the adult education center and community partners.
Required profile
- Ability to work under general supervision.
- Experience providing employment counseling and conducting needs assessments.
- Familiarity with SNAP E&T program guidelines and procedures.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with participants and partners.
