SMD Operator – Electronics Manufacturing

About the role

The SMD Operator will work on an automated Pick & Place line in an electronics manufacturing environment. The role involves running the line, performing inspections, and supporting other production areas such as testing, assembly, and warehouse operations when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Pick & Place SMD line and associated inspection systems.
• Load the correct components and follow work instructions to produce quality boards.
• Identify and act immediately on any quality issues, collaborating with QA and the Production Manager.
• Maintain machine efficiency by minimizing downtime and improving change‑over processes.
• Work towards meeting production cycle times and suggest improvements.
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot basic machine errors with support from the training team.

Required profile

• Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and preferably prior work on SMD lines.
• Ability to understand and follow English work instructions.
• Willingness to learn and assist in other areas such as testing, assembly, receiving, and packing.
• Dedicated, result‑oriented, and able to work well in a team.

Required skills

• Pick & Place SMD machine operation.
• Basic machine troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes.
• Component loading and handling.
• Understanding of work instructions in English.
