Skilled Tradesman Generalist – Facilities Maintenance

About the role

The Skilled Tradesman Generalist provides general maintenance for residence halls, ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently. This position supports the university’s facilities management mission and is essential during weather or emergency events.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in assigned residence halls, covering carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.
• Respond to work orders and emergency calls, maintaining a reliable presence and timely service.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Uphold safety standards and attend required training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum four years of general building maintenance experience (carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting).
• Preferred: seven or more years of similar experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb stairs daily, and operate basic hand tools.
