Shipfitter III / Specialist

About the role

Oceaneering Marine Services Division (MSD) brings over 30 years of experience in full‑service submarine and surface ship repairs for commercial and U.S. military vessels. The division is SUBSAFE and DDS‑SOC certified and performs high‑consequence maintenance on critical assets.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently without supervision, mentor junior craftsmen, and execute all Shipfitter tasks at an expert level.
• Set up, align, and operate portable and hand tools, including plasma cutting machines and oxy/fuel torches.
• Perform repair and installation of shipboard plate systems such as hull, deck, and bulkhead, following proper procedures and alignments.

Required profile

• High School/GED with an Apprenticeship Diploma or technical/vocational training, and/or military or civilian experience in shipfitting.
• Ability to obtain government base access and pass knowledge and practical skills tests.
• SUBSAFE qualification and Deep Submergence Systems (SOC MCD A, B, C) certification.
• Welding qualifications in GTAW and SMAW.
