Ship Build Strategist

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Ship Build Strategist to define and own the build sequence for autonomous vessels, from prefabrication through commissioning and delivery. The role bridges engineering, production, and planning to ensure efficient, safe, and on‑schedule ship construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the build strategy for each vessel, including block/zone breakdown and assembly sequence.
• Create and maintain a master integrated production schedule.
• Translate approved designs into buildable work sequences, maximizing pre‑outfitting and minimizing rework.
• Produce detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), unit boundaries, and work packages aligned with production practices.
• Integrate build strategy with production control, aligning with facility, capacity, and equipment constraints.
• Provide producibility feedback to engineering and influence design for efficient construction.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, tooling, robotics, and MES teams to align methods and work instructions.
• Identify build risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities throughout construction stages.
• Support launch, dock trials, sea trials, and customer delivery readiness.
• Maintain build‑strategy standards, playbooks, and lessons learned across programs.

Required profile

• Experience in shipbuilding, complex‑fabrication, or related industrial production.
• Strong industrialization and methods thinking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
• Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, production, and planning teams.

Required skills

• MES (Manufacturing Execution System) knowledge
• Robotics integration experience
