Shift Leader – Bakery (San Francisco)

About the role

As a Shift Leader at Insomnia Cookies in San Francisco, you will captain the bakery during day or night shifts, ensuring smooth operations, high‑quality products, and an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain product quality.
• Support store leadership by overseeing shift operations, communicating key information, monitoring production efficiency, and assisting in training and coaching team members.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the Cookie Crew.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow food‑handling standards.
• Manage cash handling, deposits, and POS transactions.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer‑service‑focused role.
• Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Strong communication, time‑management, and people skills.
• Outgoing, friendly, and patient demeanor.
• Detail‑oriented and results‑driven.
• Ability to lead by example, motivate others, and lift up to 40 lb.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States and 18 years or older.
