Services License Manager (Virtual)

About the role

The Home Depot is looking for a Services License Manager, a virtual position based in Georgia. The role ensures that The Home Depot At Home Services complies with state and local regulatory license requirements, including holding and maintaining specific trade licenses, building relationships with state and local officials and trade organizations, overseeing field compliance activities and performing service provider jobsite quality and compliance audits.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of all jobs performed by The Home Depot Service Providers in their categories and geography, acting on behalf of The Home Depot in all matters connected with the building contractor business.
• Make sure Service Providers comply with state and local contractor requirements (licensure, permitting, inspection) and trade standards, and oversee field compliance such as jobsite quality audits and supervision.
• Take state-regulated exams and complete continuing education to obtain and maintain trade licenses on behalf of The Home Depot.
• Resolve customer complaints about The Home Depot Services installations, including approving customer satisfaction mark-downs up to $1,000.
• Meet with state and local officials and trade groups to discuss and resolve compliance issues.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis to find risks and non-compliance, report findings and propose process improvements to Service Compliance.
• Lead a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisals (no hiring, firing or disciplinary action).

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED; preferred bachelor's degree.
• 6 years of work experience preferred.
• Preferred: strong relationships with state and local regulatory agencies or trade organizations, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and a Georgia active trade license as Master Electrician, Master Plumber or HVAC Contractor.

Required skills

• Ability to pass state, county or city regulated trade exams.
• Ability to manage Service Provider performance and ensure compliance with regulatory law and the Service Provider Agreement.

• Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and persuade others.

Travel is typically required more than 50% of the time, mostly indoors, with occasional exposure to dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise or bright lights. The role reports to the Director, National Services.
