Service Technician with CDL

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Service Technician with a CDL in Oklahoma City. The role provides technical troubleshooting support for designated client businesses and delivers chemicals. It combines field sampling, inventory control and driving a pickup with a trailer while complying with DOT and hazardous materials regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical troubleshooting support for client businesses and deliver chemicals
• Collect field samples for ongoing monitoring and analysis
• Manage internal resources needed to support the business
• Coordinate with workers, engineers, designers and technicians
• Perform inventory management to ensure compliance with standards
• Drive a 3/4 or 1-ton pickup with a trailer, keeping it safe through daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections, and perform pre/post-trip checks
• Load trailers and schedule daily runs to meet customer delivery needs
• Maintain up-to-date delivery maps and operate in line with DOT regulations for hazardous materials transport
• Complete work tickets accurately and describe daily activities in detail
• Report field problems and safety hazards to sales and supervisors, wear safety gear and complete monthly safety and equipment training
• Answer the company cell phone during on-call hours and follow any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• High school or GED equivalent
• At least 21 years old and able to maintain insurability with company insurance
• At least one year of previous DOT driving experience
• Effective communication with co-workers, customers, clients and management
• Strong sense of direction and knowledge of surrounding areas
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and drive long distances in the company vehicle
