Service Technician – Highland Park

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies and codes.
• Execute the make‑ready process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Perform general grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, cleaning, and painting as required.
• Inspect contractor work and assist with routine property inspections to identify safety and maintenance concerns.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule including on‑call duties during evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart where applicable.
• Compliance with safety and risk‑management policies, including OSHA training and incident reporting.

Required skills

• EPA Type I & II or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
• State and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Preventative maintenance and basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repair skills.
• Make‑ready inspection and punch‑list management.
• Inventory tracking and vendor coordination.
