Service Engineer - Marine

About the role

KONE is seeking a Service Engineer specialized in marine elevators and escalators. The role involves on‑site communication with customers aboard vessels, ensuring safety, and delivering technical solutions for complex equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with on‑site customers, manage safety, and coordinate vessel access.
• Resolve complex technical issues, including commissioning, certification, and troubleshooting of elevators and escalators.
• Perform first‑visit assessments of unknown or competitor equipment and assist with installation handover.
• Identify and report technical gaps, safety hazards, and potential improvements to supervisors and technical helpdesk.
• Plan workload with the service supervisor and contribute feedback for product and method enhancements.
• Travel up to 50% internationally and domestically, including time aboard ships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or related field (or 7 years experience without degree).
• Minimum 3 years experience in PCB debugging, wiring harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience reading and interpreting marine elevator diagrams and providing field support.
• Proven ability to source European elevator spare parts and perform annual inspections complying with regulations.
• Strong background in motion and closed‑loop control, as well as analog/digital interface troubleshooting.
