Senior V-BAT Air Vehicle Operator – Field Integration & Test

About the role

The Senior V-BAT Air Vehicle Operator supports field integration and test activities for Shield AI's V-BAT platforms in both domestic and overseas environments. The role combines aircraft operation, system calibration, and customer hand‑off responsibilities while ensuring safety and mission success.

Key responsibilities

• Support site surveys, installations, calibrations, and aircraft operational checks for customer deployments.
• Lead flight operations and field events, applying disciplined risk management and autonomous decision‑making.
• Troubleshoot aircraft, payloads, ground systems, datalinks, LAN and MANET networks, RF communications, and SATCOM in field conditions.
• Train, evaluate, and mentor operators, reinforcing standard operating procedures and safety practices.

Required profile

• FAA Private Pilot License and FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance and FAA Class II medical certificate.
• Willingness to travel 50‑75% on short notice for CONUS and OCONUS missions.
• Proven ability to lead and operate independently in austere, shipboard, and high‑tempo environments.
