Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager (PE)

About the role

DRMP is expanding its transportation engineering services across the Mid‑Atlantic and seeks a Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager, PE to lead and grow its traffic engineering practice. The role combines technical leadership, project management, quality control, business development, and team development for public‑ and private‑sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and quality control of traffic engineering studies and impact analyses throughout project lifecycles.
• Manage multiple private‑sector traffic studies and publicly funded projects, ensuring technical excellence.
• Lead business development efforts, prepare fee proposals, and support marketing with presentations and interviews.
• Track project costs, schedules, and performance metrics; supervise Project Managers, Engineers, and Interns.
• Mentor and coach staff to develop the next generation of transportation professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 7‑10+ years of progressive experience on public and private sector traffic projects.
• Professional Engineering licensure in the primary work state.
• Existing contacts with private‑sector development clients and willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Synchro traffic analysis software.
• Proficiency with SIDRA traffic modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of technical analysis standards and practices for traffic studies.
