Senior Systems Engineer (Cyber, Security & Intel)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer in Ft. Meade, MD, to support the Cyber, Security & Intel division's team working for DISA on a program that delivers critical IT capabilities to the Department of Defense. The team is built for prototype development, test and demonstration, and is kept available longer term for integration, deployment and sustainment. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify solutions based on system requirements and contribute to system design, development and engineering tasks.
• Track workload during Agile sprints using JIRA and Confluence, and produce system architecture design documentation.
• Deploy enterprise virtualization software (VMware ESXi and Nutanix AHV) and install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, applications and management tools.
• Help design scalable, resilient system configurations and deliver technical solutions to government customers.
• Maintain Government security standards, liaise with vendors and other IT personnel, and brief technical and non-technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or 5 additional years of systems engineering experience.
• 8 years of related systems engineering, architecture design and systems integration experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, travel up to 20%, and work in a SCIF and occasionally in a datacenter.

Required skills

• Windows Server 2022-2025, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, PKI, Splunk, SCCM, SQL Server, backup systems.
• Nutanix AHV/AOS/Prism, VMware ESXi/vCenter, Cisco UCS/Hyperflex/Intersight, RHEL.
• DoD classified environment, DoD security requirements, STIGs and RMF.
• Preferred: Agile Scrum, VMware VCP 7.x/8.x, Infoblox, Commvault, Red Hat Satellite or Ansible, Trellix, RSA SecurID, ACAS, PostgreSQL, Exchange, Rubrik, ITILv4.

What we offer

• Salary range of $180,000 - $230,000.
