Senior System Software Engineer – Scientific Computing

About the role

Nvidia is building a cloud‑based accelerated scientific computing platform on the DGX Cloud. We are looking for a senior system software engineer to design, build, and operate microservices and infrastructure that enable physics‑based simulations, AI training, and visualization for a wide range of scientific domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and operate cloud‑native microservices and APIs for scientific workloads on the DGX Cloud.
• Build scalable I/O infrastructure for checkpointing, data loading, and pre/post‑processing of simulation data.
• Optimize compute, storage, and network architectures for physics‑driven applications.
• Collaborate with operations to improve system performance across the full stack, including GPUs, CPUs, and distributed frameworks.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years building and operating distributed, data‑intensive platforms on cloud environments.
• Strong self‑motivation, interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently with multiple teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in compiled languages such as Go, Rust, or C++.
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing architecture, virtualization, and security.
• Expertise in distributed systems, parallel processing, MPI, NCCL, and cluster scalability.
• Hands‑on debugging of processes, threads, deadlocks, scheduling, IPC, memory management, and I/O.

What we offer

• Base salary range $180,000 – $339,250 per year.
