Senior Sportsbook Trader – Sports Owner

About the role

The Sports Owner operates at Senior Trader level within Hard Rock Digital's Sportsbook Trading Team, overseeing price management, risk oversight, and the competitiveness of the sportsbook across all sports while taking ownership of a specific sport.

Key responsibilities

• Manage price management, risk oversight, and competitiveness across all sports as a Senior Trader.
• Take ownership of a specific sport (e.g., NHL, Combat Sports, Golf, Table Tennis, eSports, Tennis), driving pricing strategy, feature set, and competitive positioning.
• Manage multiple third‑party data feeds and trading tools to maintain market integrity, optimise margins, and mitigate risk.
• Respond to real‑time market movements, ensure pricing remains competitive and compliant, and lead refinements for the owned sport.
• Develop deep understanding of trading systems, define requirements, benchmark competitors, and feed insights back to product and trading teams.
• Mentor junior traders and contribute to operational excellence across the trading desk.

Required profile

• Decisive analytical thinker with extensive sportsbook trading experience and strong risk management knowledge.
• Deep expertise in the owned sport’s rules, nuances, player analytics, and betting behaviours.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and technical abilities, and ability to interpret data for trading decisions and strategy.
• Proactive, organised, and willing to work non‑standard hours to cover key sporting events.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with BI tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Ability to manage and optimise third‑party odds and data feeds.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate trading strategies and produce data‑driven reports.
