Senior Solutions Architect – Cybersecurity

About the role

GigaKOM, which delivers enterprise IT solutions to California K-12 school districts, universities, government agencies and commercial organizations, is expanding its security practice. It is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect – Cybersecurity for a fully remote position supporting client environments across California. The role designs and advances cybersecurity architectures across network, cloud, identity, endpoint and SIEM/XDR environments, acting as a technical authority and trusted advisor to executives, sales teams and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead enterprise security architectures and promote Zero Trust frameworks; establish reusable architectures and standards.
• Partner with sales on opportunities and lead client discovery, presenting security strategies to CIOs and CISOs.
• Lead proposals, RFP/RFI responses and competitive positioning.
• Work on Zero Trust, Microsoft security ecosystems (Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel), endpoint security, SIEM/SOC and network security projects.
• Design identity-first security, secure Azure environments and hybrid workload protection.
• Provide escalation guidance for incidents, SIEM strategy and vulnerability management.
• Align with NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, GDPR and other frameworks, and support audits.
• Mentor engineering teams, shape offerings and build reusable frameworks.

Required profile

• 7+ years in cybersecurity engineering, architecture or consulting.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale security architectures.
• Client-facing, pre-sales or consulting experience; strong executive communication.
• Ability to work independently remotely.
• Preferred: California SLED client experience, CISSP/CISM/CISA, vendor certifications, and experience leading large RFPs.
