Senior Software Engineer (Windows Desktop)

About the role

ETAP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its R&D team in Irvine. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Windows desktop applications that power innovative electrical engineering solutions for the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Build and optimise database‑driven solutions using ODBC, SQL Server, and LocalDB.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Continuously improve development processes, code quality, and system performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience developing Windows desktop applications.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C# using Visual Studio.
• Solid experience with ODBC, SQL Server, LocalDB, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with multithreading, parallel programming, and object‑oriented design.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (no visa sponsorship).
