About the role

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Core team, responsible for building the foundational infrastructure behind its flagship products. You will work on large‑scale, distributed systems that power billions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance core software solutions.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple teams.
• Contribute to the architecture of compute, storage, and networking components.
• Collaborate with product, security, and reliability engineers to ensure high performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional C++ programming.
• 3+ years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1+ year of experience in software design and architecture.
• 3+ years developing large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or hardware‑related technologies.
• Preferred: Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, 5+ years with data structures and algorithms, 1+ year in a technical leadership role, and experience building accessible technologies.
