Senior Software Developer (Cloud, Kubernetes, Python)

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of software development experience, strong cloud and information systems background, and the ability to migrate and modernize legacy applications to the cloud. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software using Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL Server, Windows Server and Linux.
• Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot EKS clusters, keeping them highly available and performant.
• Deploy and orchestrate workloads on Kubernetes with rolling updates and canary releases.
• Manage cloud infrastructure with IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation or CDK.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or ArgoCD for automated delivery to EKS.
• Integrate observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or Amazon CloudWatch.
• Implement security frameworks including IAM roles, Kubernetes RBAC and vulnerability scanning.
• Work with Jira and Confluence for agile management, and research and adopt emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Over 10 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly.
• Background in on-call support and operational monitoring of critical systems.

Required skills

• Programming in at least two languages: Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C# or SQL.
• Cloud technologies and experience with JIRA, Confluence, Splunk and diagramming tools.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization and DevOps skills.
• Preferred: AWS, EKS or other container orchestration, design systems and component libraries, technical writing, and familiarity with high-availability systems and secure communications.
