Senior ServiceNow Engineer

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Senior ServiceNow Engineer to support a critical program delivering integrated voice, video and data services across the IT lifecycle. The role works 5 days a week (Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week) and involves designing, developing and maintaining ServiceNow applications and integrations for enterprise ITSM and ITOM. Candidates must be able to work independently or in a team, adapt quickly to new problems and learn new products and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules and integrations for ITSM and ITOM.
• Administer and sustain the on-premises/self-hosted ServiceNow instance for performance, compliance and availability.
• Implement and enhance Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, CMDB, Service Catalog and Service Portal/Employee Center applications.
• Develop custom applications, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts and Workflow Studio logic.
• Manage data imports, transformations and integrations via REST/SOAP APIs, LDAP and other mechanisms.
• Apply CSDM principles to keep service mapping and CMDB data accurate.
• Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on DoD security and accreditation requirements.
• Support patching, upgrades and releases while preserving backwards compatibility.
• Take part in Agile sprints, backlog grooming and technical design, and conduct impact analyses and architectural reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, provide Tier 3 escalation support and document solutions.

Required profile

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS, with the ability to acquire SCI5.
• 5 years of experience in software design, development or enterprise platform engineering.
• 3+ years of ServiceNow administration and development (on-prem or hosted).
• High school diploma; an associate degree in an IT-related field is preferred.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week, work overtime during peaks, and travel 5-10% within 75 miles.

Required skills

• ServiceNow development (Glide scripting, Workflow Studio, UI customization, integrations) and administration.
• JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, Jelly and CSS.
• LDA, SSO and REST/SOAP integrations.
• ITIL practices and ServiceNow governance.
• Preferred: ServiceNow CSA certification, one of the 8140 IAT Level II or III baseline certifications, CAD or CIS certifications, ITIL 4 Foundation/Master, and DoD or government ITSM background.
