Senior Security Engineer, Operations

About the role

K2 is building the most powerful satellites ever flown and needs a senior security professional to protect its corporate environment. As the Senior Security Engineer, Operations you will own detection and response, mature the SIEM platform, and lead incident handling against sophisticated adversaries targeting our high‑value space technology.

Key responsibilities

• Operate day‑to‑day detection and response across identity, endpoints, SaaS, network and cloud telemetry.
• Administer and evolve the SIEM: onboard log sources, parse and normalize data, enrich telemetry, tune rules, and manage platform health, retention and cost.
• Write, test and maintain detection content mapped to MITRE ATT&CK using detection‑as‑code practices with version control and automated testing.
• Act as incident commander for corporate security incidents, coordinating stakeholders, delivering timelines, root‑cause analysis and post‑incident follow‑up.
• Develop response playbooks and automation via SOAR, scripting and vendor APIs to accelerate detection, triage and containment.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting across endpoints, SaaS applications and cloud infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security operations or SOC environments.
• Demonstrated ability to drive incidents from detection through eradication with urgency.
• Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with cross‑functional teams.
