Senior Research Scientist – Molecular Diagnostics

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to lead innovative projects in molecular diagnostics at Bosch’s Research and Technology Center in Sunnyvale, California. The role bridges academic research and product development, driving the creation of next‑generation diagnostic technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, incubate, and translate cutting‑edge academic research into scalable proof‑of‑concept technologies for molecular diagnostics and biosensing.
• Lead hands‑on development and testing of prototype diagnostic systems, integrating microfluidics, electrochemical sensing, soft electronics, and chip‑scale nanofabrication.
• Collaborate with internal business units, engineering teams, and external academic partners such as Stanford and UC Berkeley to transition early‑stage research into viable products.
• Publish research findings and contribute to patent portfolios.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related field.
• Proven industry experience in developing diagnostic or biosensor technologies.
• Strong track record of publishing scientific research and delivering prototype systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
