Senior Research Associate – Construction Science

About the role

The Senior Research Associate will support the Construction Science Department by coordinating site investigations, collecting field data, and assisting with training material development for civil construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and perform civil construction material testing, including lab tests.
• Coordinate travel and site visits for research teams, ensuring safety and data collection (images, videos, test reports).
• Engage with contractors, project owners, and site representatives to schedule visits and clarify research scope.
• Identify active construction sites, review plans, and present potential field visits to the research group.
• Teach research students how to conduct material tests and support their field work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 4 years of construction materials inspection/testing or civil construction experience.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, staff, and students.
• Strong multitasking and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software.
• Experience using instructional programs for training material development.
