Senior Program Coordinator – Neuroscience PhD & MS Programs

About the role

The Senior Program Coordinator provides administrative, trainee, and academic support for Georgetown’s Integrative Neuroscience MS and Interdisciplinary Neuroscience PhD programs. The role oversees grant reporting, recruitment, student progress, alumni outreach, and event planning while serving as the academic coordinator for course registration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide post‑award administrative support for the IPN training grant and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Assist with recruitment, admissions, and monitoring the academic progress of MS and PhD students.
• Coordinate alumni and career services outreach and organize special events for both programs.
• Serve as academic coordinator, managing course registration through Courseleaf for the IPN PhD and INNS MS programs.
• Collaborate with the Biomedical Graduate Education offices, University Registrar, and Global Services to administer day‑to‑day program operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a biomedical academic setting.
• Collaborative, transparent leadership style with cultural awareness and the ability to build trust.
• Experience working with diverse faculty, student, and trainee populations.
• Strong independent work ethic combined with effective teamwork.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Keen attention to detail and experience organizing events and programming.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with online collaboration tools such as Google Docs.
• Experience using Courseleaf for course registration.
