About the role

The University of Miami’s School of Communication seeks a full‑time Senior Program Coordinator to oversee graduate‑studies administration across the entire student lifecycle, from prospective applicant contact through alumni engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provides administrative and operational coordination for graduate programs, supporting recruitment, orientation, and alumni activities.
• Manages the application process, maintains applicant files, generates decision letters, and updates databases such as Slate and Cane Link.
• Collaborates with the Associate Dean, faculty, university partners, and external agencies to ensure smooth program operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in higher‑education program administration, student services, or academic advising.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer‑service abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communication tools.
• Experience using student information or CRM systems such as Slate and Cane Link.
• Knowledge of FERPA and the ability to handle confidential student records.
