Senior Product Owner – Federal Reserve Financial Services

About the role

The Federal Reserve Financial Services division seeks a Senior Product Owner to lead an Agile team in delivering payment solutions. This full‑time onsite position reports to the Lead Product Owner and works closely with architecture, engineering, and quality assurance to meet customer and stakeholder outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into prioritized product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with the Lead Product Owner and Product Management to communicate vision, goals, and roadmap.
• Guide the Agile team through sprint planning, execution, and delivery of high‑value features.
• Ensure technology‑driven and risk‑remediation requirements are addressed to avoid technical debt.
• Present working software at demos and prepare product proposals for governance forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of experience in product ownership or similar roles within complex, highly matrixed organizations.
• Proven ability to bridge business and IT, develop detailed specifications, and manage multiple deliverables independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Certified Product Owner in Scrum or SAFe (advanced level preferred).
• Recent experience with JIRA for backlog management.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Agile methodologies and sprint processes.
• Experience with cloud‑based web applications in the financial services sector.
