Senior Product Engineer (Tech Lead)

About the role

World Labs is seeking a Senior Product Engineer who will act as a technical bridge between product vision and engineering execution. You will own features from concept through delivery, building responsive web applications and robust backend services that power generative AI workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Partner directly with product leadership on architectural decisions, sprint planning and technical execution.
• Ship user‑facing applications and developer tooling end‑to‑end, owning both frontend and backend components.
• Design and implement complex workflows around generative models, including async operations, streaming results, caching, retries and graceful degradation.
• Set and uphold quality standards for correctness, performance, polish and maintainability; review peers’ work to the same bar.
• Collaborate with users and design partners, instrument shipped features, monitor usage and iterate rapidly.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience (8+ for Staff level) with a proven record of end‑to‑end product ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to ship complete user‑facing products and be accountable for their production quality.
• Strong appreciation for intuitive user experiences and the technical depth to design scalable systems.
• Experience acting as a “player‑coach,” guiding technical road‑maps while contributing code.
• Comfort working with AI‑assisted development workflows and verifying model‑driven outputs.
