Senior Product Development Specialist – Aerospace Adhesives

About the role

As a Senior Product Development Specialist you will lead the creation and commercialization of new aerospace adhesive products for 3M. You will work with global teams, research labs and external partners to expand the company’s portfolio and meet evolving market demands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new adhesive products and platforms to grow 3M’s aerospace portfolio.
• Commercialize products in collaboration with cross‑functional, division‑wide teams.
• Analyze aerospace customer and market needs, including design trends, regulatory standards and quality metrics.
• Partner with Corporate Research Laboratory developers to integrate new technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
• Leverage external collaborations to accelerate technology and product development.
• Initiate and contribute to intellectual property creation and strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• At least ten (10) years of product development, process engineering, or laboratory research experience in a private, public, government or military setting.
• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Polymer Science/Engineering is preferred.
• Experience with aerospace material specifications, testing, qualification, risk assessment, safety and reliability.
• Demonstrated record of publications, conference presentations or patented IP.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills for multidisciplinary project teams.
