Senior Product Designer

About the role

Check is rebuilding its payroll infrastructure and needs a senior designer to transform complex, operational software into intuitive, delightful experiences. You will work directly with payroll operators and platform partners to shape the core product patterns of a high‑impact, data‑heavy platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design of major product enhancements, from problem framing through shipped experience.
• Conduct user research with payroll operators and platform partners to uncover insights and inform design decisions.
• Identify opportunities to rethink existing product patterns and improve intuitiveness and efficiency.
• Partner closely with engineering and product leaders to design surfaces and workflows that simplify complex payroll operations.
• Elevate visual and interaction design of existing product surfaces to create a cohesive, intuitive experience.

Required profile

• 6–10+ years of experience designing complex software or infrastructure products.
• Strong UX instincts and ability to simplify data‑heavy interfaces and workflows.
• Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, elevated visual design, and judgment around AI applications.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams and working within technical constraints.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate design decisions and trade‑offs.

Required skills

• Product design, UX/UI research and design.
• Designing workflow‑driven or operational software (fintech, developer tools, enterprise platforms).
• Prototyping and rapid iteration.
• Conducting user research and translating insights into product improvements.
