Senior Product Counsel – Legal

About the role

Bumble is seeking a Senior Product Counsel to partner with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Design, and Trust & Safety teams. The attorney will guide legal considerations throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring innovative, responsible, and compliant member experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary legal advice to product and engineering from design through launch, focusing on generative AI, online safety, IP, open source, and privacy.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, AI/ML, Compliance, and InfoSec to deliver clear, actionable guidance that balances innovation and risk.
• Implement scalable legal processes, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Ensure product compliance with GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and relevant online safety regulations.
• Act as legal project manager, coordinating input across privacy, commercial, and compliance teams.

Required profile

• J.D. degree and active bar membership in the UK/EU.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including in‑house work at a U.S. tech company or top‑tier law firm.
• Strong knowledge of global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, UK DPA) and online safety regulations (DSA, Online Safety Act).
• Proven ability to influence without authority and manage cross‑functional projects.
• Based in Austin or New York and committed to Bumble’s mission.
