Senior Power Electronics Engineer

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing the world’s first mass‑produced portable nuclear microreactors. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will lead the design of power‑electronics hardware that converts the reactor’s mechanical energy into reliable electrical power for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑voltage power‑electronic systems, including active rectifiers, grid‑compatible inverters and DC‑DC converters.
• Select and qualify high‑voltage semiconductor devices (Si, SiC, GaN, IGBT, MOSFET, diodes) and associated gate‑driver and protection circuits.
• Apply EMI/EMC mitigation strategies, choose line filters, grounding and isolation components.
• Model, simulate and validate inverter and converter performance, including PWM switching techniques.
• Perform detailed circuit analysis, de‑rating, worst‑case studies and thermal loss optimization.
• Own the end‑to‑end design, build and testing of a fully functional inverter prototype.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics.
• At least 6 years of hands‑on design experience in high‑voltage, high‑power electronics.
• Proven expertise in selecting and integrating power semiconductors (Si/SiC/GaN, IGBT, MOSFET, diodes).
• Strong background in designing AC/DC inverters and DC‑DC converters operating above 800 V.
• Deep understanding of PWM switching, gate‑driver design and protection circuitry.
