Senior Physical Automation Engineer

About the role

Nestlé Operational Services Worldwide is seeking a Senior Physical Automation Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of robotic and automated material handling solutions across its manufacturing sites. The role focuses on leveraging robotics, AGV/AMR and advanced conveyance technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and quality in food production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, automation contractors and OEMs to define requirements and conceptualize automation solutions.
• Design, develop and implement robotic, AGV/AMR and advanced conveyance systems, including scripts and workflows.
• Integrate automation solutions with existing manufacturing and MES systems while minimizing operational disruption.
• Create and execute comprehensive test and validation plans to ensure reliability, scalability and performance.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting and continuous improvement for deployed automation assets.
• Document design specifications, implementation guides, user manuals and troubleshooting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 + years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and allocate resources.
• Strong communication skills and experience influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with change management, lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
