Senior Optical Inspection Technician

About the role

Celgard, a leader in high‑performance membrane technology and part of the Asahi Kasei Group, is seeking a Senior Optical Inspection Technician for its Quality team in Concord, NC. Optical inspection is a critical step in the production of battery separators used in electric‑drive vehicles and energy‑storage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality test procedures, SOPs, SOCs, and troubleshooting guides for FSM Optical Systems.
• Keep all department quality documentation up‑to‑date.
• Train floor optical support technicians on new and revised procedures.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, including after‑hours support when required.
• Maintain and calibrate optical inspection equipment to ensure reliable performance.

Required profile

• Experience in an optical inspection or quality‑assurance environment within manufacturing.
• Ability to create and update technical documentation and training materials.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to support after‑hours issues.
• Reports directly to the Quality Manager; no supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with FSM Optical Systems.
• Hands‑on experience with optical inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of SOP/SOC development and maintenance.
• Advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Effective technical training delivery.
