Senior Network Engineer (Engineering Change Proposals)

About the role

Competitive Range Solutions seeks a Senior Network Engineer to lead the planning, design, and implementation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for complex IT infrastructure and network architecture upgrades in a DoD environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative network designs and ECPs, collaborating with the execution team to produce around 800 ECPs covering various project sizes.
• Analyze existing network architectures, propose upgrades, and drive transport network modernization and optimization initiatives.
• Manage network‑related projects from conception through closeout, ensuring compliance with technical and security requirements.
• Serve as the technical liaison between project teams, customers, and government representatives, communicating design decisions and project status.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum 2 years as a senior or lead engineer designing software‑defined networks and at least 3 years working in a DoD environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.

Required skills

• Design and optimization of SDN, network virtualization, and multi‑tenant architectures.
• Configuration and installation of routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors.
• Network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting/coding for network threshold events.
• Knowledge of DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level III certification requirements.
