About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Natural Resources & Permitting Specialist to lead environmental permitting efforts across Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. The role supports infrastructure, ecological restoration, and redevelopment projects while mentoring junior staff and expanding our internal permitting capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead preparation and review of environmental permit applications, focusing on Connecticut regulatory programs.
- Manage applications for USACE Sections 404/10/408, CZMA consistency, CTDEEP tidal and inland wetlands permits, Section 401 Water Quality Certifications, floodplain and water diversion permits, FEMA-related reviews, and municipal wetlands, zoning, stormwater, and erosion control permits.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to achieve timely approvals.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and permitting strategies for multiple concurrent projects.
- Supervise wetland delineations, natural resource evaluations, and field studies supporting permit submissions.
- Monitor regulatory updates and adjust permitting approaches accordingly.
- Mentor early‑career staff in wetland delineation, environmental permitting, and project management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in environmental permitting, agency coordination, and project management.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through complex federal, state, and municipal review processes.
