Senior MuleSoft Platform Administrator / Engineer

About the role

Fathom Management is looking for a senior MuleSoft professional to support a major Department of Veterans Affairs integration initiative. This remote, full‑time position will ensure the stability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of a mission‑critical Anypoint Platform serving cloud, hybrid, and on‑premises systems.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and engineer the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, Runtime Manager, and API Manager.
• Maintain platform stability, performance tuning, high‑availability, and production operations.
• Drive API governance, security, and lifecycle management across REST and SOAP services.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define integration strategy.
• Automate deployment pipelines and support CI/CD processes.
• Provide troubleshooting, incident response, and continuous improvement for enterprise integrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience administering or engineering MuleSoft Anypoint Platform in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise integration platforms in production.

Required skills

• MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4.x, CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, Runtime Manager, API Manager, Anypoint Exchange).
• REST APIs, SOAP Services, DataWeave, JSON, XML.
• Enterprise authentication and API security (OAuth 2.0, SAML, Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, Okta).
• API governance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability.
• CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible).
