Senior Mobile Application Developer – Remote (US)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Application Developer to design, build, and maintain modern mobile applications that integrate with existing COBOL and Java backend systems. The role involves native iOS and Android development as well as cross‑platform solutions using React Native and Flutter, while ensuring high performance, security, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build cross‑platform mobile apps with React Native and Flutter.
• Integrate mobile applications with legacy COBOL‑based and Java‑based backend services.
• Collaborate with backend teams to create RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints and design API gateways.
• Write reusable, clean, and modular code for cross‑platform projects and native modules when needed.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, platform‑consistent interfaces.
• Optimize app performance using Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler, and best‑practice memory management.
• Develop unit, integration, and automated tests using Jest, XCTest, and Flutter Test.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitrise for automated builds, testing, and deployment.
• Implement secure communication (HTTPS), OAuth authentication, and data encryption, ensuring compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and industry regulations.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Significant experience integrating mobile apps with legacy COBOL and Java systems.
• Strong background in API development and backend integration.
• Proficiency with version control, cloud services, CI/CD, and testing/debugging tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public‑trust clearance.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Woodlawn, MD (if required).
• Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 12+ years, or 18+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
