Senior Mental Health Clinician (Embedded)

About the role

The Senior Mental Health Clinician (Embedded) provides counseling, outreach, and program development for Texas A&M University students. Working off‑site but reporting to University Health Services, the clinician collaborates with campus administration, faculty, and staff to promote mental well‑being across the student body.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual, couple, and group mental health counseling tailored to diverse student needs.
• Coordinate and expand counseling services and develop new mental‑health programs.
• Provide training seminars and share professional expertise with campus partners.
• Supervise clinical staff and graduate trainees as required.
• Teach mental‑health topics in large classroom settings.
• Participate in weekly UHS team meetings, staff meetings, and case consultations.
• Travel occasionally and maintain a flexible schedule for evening or weekend outreach and crisis response.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field accepted by the Texas State Board of Examiners.
• At least five years of full‑time, independent licensure experience in a college counseling center or comparable setting.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas within one year of hire.
• Eligibility to supervise according to Texas licensing board requirements.
